Community Volunteers | Cape Henlopen Educational Foundation

Fundraising – Plans and organizes all fundraising events. This is a fun way to work with other motivated and innovative people to come up with funding for CHEF programming. Winter Jam, an adult dance party held every year is an example of a signature CHEF event.

Special Event Volunteer – This is a great place if you’d like to be involved, but don’t have a lot of time. You can sign up to be someone we can call to help with events like Winter Jam where we need people to help with everything from planning to helping for a two -hour time frame the day of the event. This volunteer opportunity can be a lot of fun, there are always great teams here.

Communications and Public Relations – Manages external communications. This position is all about helping more people know about our wonderful district and what is happening in it through help from CHEF. This can include, press releases, public speaking, advertising, meeting with community leaders and groups. As a volunteer you would be able to choose where and how you would like to help.

Allocations– awards Scholarships and Grants. Help decide where funds can be best used to help students and build our community through Cape Henlopen School District.

Budget and Finance– manages and audits all CHEF funds. A program is only as good as its business model. Help CHEF keep a strong bottom line. CHEF funds are managed by the greater Lewes Foundation and the Delaware Community Foundation.

Governance – Seeks new members. New ideas, fresh help is key in building a not for profit program such as CHEF that aims to include all facets of the community. Do you have non-profit experience? Are you a people person who can motivate? Do you know others? This could be the place for you.
